Risktec training and education business awarded Grade A

Risktec training and education business awarded Grade A

(Sep-10)  Risktec has been awarded a Grade A (Outstanding) for our Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) which developed our training and education business.  The award was made by an independent group of business and academic advisors working for the UK's Technology Strategy Board.

A Grade A is a very hard mark to get, awarded to only 4% of KTPs in the UK.  The award reflects the achievement of meeting the KTP objectives:

  • Facilitating the transfer of research-based knowledge, skills and expertise, to enhance the development of management skills, and to encourage business investment in training, research and development.
  • Providing business-based training, supervised jointly by personnel in the knowledge base and the commercial enterprise, for high-calibre graduates intending to pursue careers in business.
  • Enhancing the level of research and training in the knowledge base that is relevant to business, by stimulating collaborative research and development projects and forging lasting partnerships between the knowledge base and business.

Alan Hoy, Managing Director, sums up the reaction at Risktec: "We're absolutely delighted with the grade.  It's always nice when a great deal of hard work from a lot of people is recognised.  We do appear to have created something truely unique with LJMU - post-graduate qualifications in risk and safety management taught by practising consultants, which are entirely flexible in the module selection and the delivery location and timing."
